Dr. Zappa graduated from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in June 1966, and has practiced podiatric medicine and surgery for over 40 years. He was board certified in foot surgery in 1976 and began to plan a new office on the near west side. The Taylor Street office was opened in 1977 at 1345 West Taylor Street, followed by a move to 1158 West Taylor Street, then finally ending in the present location at 1226 West Taylor Street.

Dr. Zappa serves as the Section Chief of Podiatry/President of the Medical Staff at Saint Anthony Hospital. He is also on staff at multiple free standing surgery centers in the city and suburbs.

Dr. Zappa entered the academic arena, teaching residents, in 1984. He is the former program director for the Saint Joseph Hospital/Chicago Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency-RRA Residency Program at 2900 North Lake Shore Drive.

Dr. Traverso graduated with an undergraduate degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. He then went on to complete coursework at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at RosalindFranklin University of Medicine & Science in North Chicago, IL. After graduating with his DPM degree, he placed and completed a three-year residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago, IL. Dr. Traverso is board certified by ABPM and board qualified by ABPS. Dr. Traverso has professional interests include forefoot surgery, wound care, geriatric care, and custom orthotics.

Nancy Zomaya, DPM

Dr. Zomaya graduated from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science located in North Chicago, IL. She then completed a three year podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Saint Joseph Hospital, IL, where she gained a comprehensive background in foot and ankle surgery. During her residency training, she served as Chief Resident of the podiatry program and maintained an active role in teaching podiatric students and junior residents while also participating in research. Currently in private practice, Dr. Zomaya is also an active member of the teaching faculty for the podiatry residents at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital. Dr. Zomaya treats all diseases of the foot and ankle in both children and adults and is accepting new patients.

Dr. Fontejon, began her professional journey as an undergraduate at the University of California Berkeley. Her path continued to New York where she received a masters degree at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her doctorate degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Upon graduating, she entered a podiatric medicine and surgery residency with a credential in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. She served as chief resident during her last year of residency where she assisted with the clinical supervision of resident physicians and coordinating dynamic schedules of clinics and surgeries. Prior to serving as chief resident, she also served as student coordinator where she cultivated a learning environment and schedule for graduating podiatric medical students. Dr. Fontejon is board qualified by both American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). Her professional interests include forefoot surgery and wound care in the diabetic population. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring different cultures through food, baking, and spending time outdoors with her dog
